Can you ID this flower please
« on: March 23, 2014, 06:18:36 PM »
Can you ID this flower any ideas ..
They are growing profusely in a lot of gardens here (Isle of Wight). Their spread is like snowdrops/garlic/bluebells with same shape leaves. No smell to leaves or flowers, the colour (if the pic is difficult to see) a very delicate blueish white with lilac tips to the petal

It looks to me like chinadoxia scary, if it is I think it is a tiny bulbous spring flower. I have them and mine are a pale lilac blue but thye shade varies a little,
Together with scilla, they make a lovely delicate follow on flower after the snowdrops and crocus. I think the nickname if snow glory or glory in the snow, something like that

Mine should be through within the next month so I guess that far south they could be flowering now.
squirrels are often out their trees but never short of nuts.

I swear the kombucha, the fruit juice and the grand challenge of the PC has woken up some brain cells that have been hibernating for several years.  CThUpD:-)

If what you say is true, Dave - from what he tells me about his mempry - could do with spending a fortnight under your health regime & PC workouts Fluffy!  cwl:-]

Poor ol' Dave - you shouldn't mock the afflicted - besides Fluffy reckons she can't find her computer sometimes! So between them they should stumble on for another 10 years or so (the blind leading the blind!)  cmu:-)
