The RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch event for 2016 will be taking place on the weekend of 30/31 January so plenty of time to fill up those feeders and get the birds into your garden or plot.

More info available from http://www.rspb.org.uk

ThU:-) Will be doing that.....Ive got a flock of goldfinches, blue tits, sparrows, starlings, collared doves and 4 wood pigeons. Its the sparrows I worry about used to be thousands in my childhood....not so many in London now. The starling gang were fledglings that come back......the 4 big fat wood pigeon...have figured out the bird feeder + take turns so I let them. Im veggie but they are my reserves in case disaster food gets short Ive seen how you remove the plump beats to cook. So we have a truce. Bono is on pigeon alert......which we have loads in London.....he charges out scares them off but ignores little birds.

Just a quick reminder that the Birdwatch survey is to be done over this weekend. So sharpen those pencils, grab the binos and spend an hour counting the birds in your garden, allotment etc.

Horrible day for it today - it's blowing like crazy here. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day for the job here.

Thanks for reminding everyone Wonky.
