Got down the plot today and sowed 4, 40 cell modules of onion seed.
They were Bedfordshire Champion, Ramata Di Milano, Ailsa Craig and Rouge de Florence.
Covered and placed in a mini greenhouse in the polytunnel.  ThU32:-)

Too wet to dig so l began to lay the 2 foot square paving slabs.  Dug out the top soil and sieved it to get rid of the large stones and weed rhizomes.  Took the sieved soil over to the new strawberry bed and tipped it out there to increase the depth of top soil there.  Filled the holes where the path is to go with stones, levelled the area and laid the slabs.

I don't know why they make these slabs so heavy.  I put down the three slabs that I brought from the old allotment and then put in a curbing slab.  After that I had run out of slabs so I decided to plant the pot grown strawberries.

Spent most of the time measuring out the lines because I hate it when they are not straight.  I've put them in about ten inches apart and 14 inches between the rows.  This will mean that I will have room to put straw around them.   I have staggered them a little so that each plant has ample space.

Still very wet and boots got very claggy but I have done a bit anyway.

Now if you'd attempted that on my plot today, you'd be kitted out in a snorkel, wet suit and possibly you might have got away with just waders in the shallower areas! And you just got your BOOTS claggy? Jeez some people don't know they're born!!!!  Angry:-{

Shooed the man of the house out to walk the dogs.
All 3 of them came back caked to their hip lines in mud
Man sent to change clothes, dogs made to stand for a rub down before being allowed on the carpet.
All finished just in time for visitors arrival for lunch.

The plan was to have lunch and then off to the lottie to do a quick check on things
BUT!

Lunch lazily extended into tea which didn't really finish until supper time, so no allotment tonight as my helmet lamp is in the workshop for its 44 thousand hour service ..... ;-)

will try again tomorrow

Must get my glasses changed! I honestly read that the first time as "All 3 of them came back naked to their hip lines in mud". I'm getting worried about my age/ eyes! And I can't blame the booze because I can't drink alcohol - unless it's too much Kombucha - but that's supposed to make your eyes better!  Blush:-(

Visited my allotment saturday while walking the dog,s to check that the black plastic sheeting i had placed on part of my plot was still there after all the high winds we have had was surprised it was still exactly where i had put it expected it to be gone even though i had placed a lot of timber on it though it might have lifted and been half way to norfolk so if it has survived those winds i have nothing to worry about ...
