SIGN the PETITION to stop the carnage!
« on: April 20, 2014, 02:27:28 PM »

Here is the wording of the petition:

Quote
e-petition

Tell Eric Pickles that allotments must not be sold off!

Responsible department: Department for Communities and Local Government

Eric Pickles, the Communities Secretary, is examining plans to free local authorities from a 103-year-old obligation to provide plots of public land for cultivation by gardeners. The proposals could see local authorities, many of them strapped for cash under government-imposed cuts, selling off allotment land for social housing or even for profit to major companies.

They speak with a forked tongue Fluffy!

Whilst on their site they spout propaganda like: "Allotments have also been listed as assets of community value" Eric (Jabba The Hutt) Pickles is working his fat arse off  removing allotment land for development.

So if allotments are such an asset of community value - what the hell is he playing at?

I don't know, as I say I have signed the petition anyway, just in case.
At the moment I din't know who to trust.
I have had a document drop on my mat.

5yrs ago there was a 'strategic housing land assessment' done for our parish.

I am absolutely reeling. All the resources/assets out village had are being systematically removed. Especially the ones that create a community cohesion and sense of 'community well-being'  The village identity and culture is being erased from the face of our landscape. Labour PC, Labour DC and Labour CC. All three tiers of local government are Labour lead.

They have all undergone development feasibility studies and the allotments are on there.

Not suitable in 2010 but when other aspects are in place (robin hood theme park etc (they will be. Bottom line is "available 5 to 10yrs). which is 2015.
"2015 is when the PC take control of our allotments.

Not only that but every green field around the village is also available, some now some 2015 onwards. upwards of one thousand new houses,

They have marked the site as having a "contaminant" possibility. I haven't a clue what that's about.

There is rotteness to the core - regardless of what political party is involved Fluffy. Politicians are not trustworthy, they're greedy, selfish, self promoting, unprincipled and downright fraudulent in their activities. Most view their jobs as an opportunity to gain wealth, influence and power, with the exception of a few notable examples they do not view their work as a vocation to help the greater many but an opportunity to promote self as career politicians. There is a very fine line between their attitudes and behaviour and that demonstrated by other so called 'professionals' like bankers.

It is the manifestation of collective individuals with no social concience, or any conscience for that matter. The labels put on their groups are just a convenience to blame a 'party' rather than individuals within those parties. It is a disease that permeates down the ranks of ALL parties. The bottom line is they are NOT to be trusted, whatever flavour or colour they come in.

I can say that with confidence because I spent many years campaigning and canvassing for a political party, believeing that I could do good and right some wrongs. Up to 2002 I was the vice president of a national party here in Wales served on the national executive & I was the chair of the local constituency party. I gave it up in disgust, when I realised how rotten and underhanded it all was.
