Hmmm, well, I think that the apple is Scrumptious and the Calabrese is Marathon. Both of which I grow.

If I win this I would like to donate the prize to  a special school of your choice, Gee.

Brilliant....I never really won anyting before, except a stainless steel toast rack in 1972 in a raffle at my local pub. As I said when I entered this  I would like to donate the prize to a special school of your choice B. G.  Oooooh how exciting clap:-) clap:-) clap:-) clap:-) clap:-) clap:-)

Now for a head scratch Tommo! Do you mean a 'special' school for youngsters with 'special' needs? Or a a 'special' school because it's 'especially' good?  Grin2:-)

Well I never thought of that, but,  I suppose, either would be good as long as the pupils benefit from the interactive process of planting a tree and seeing it bear fruit. The choice is entirely yours, Gee, I'm sure that you will select an appropriate recipient. I'm just thrilled at winning.

OK - I'll be grafting the scion wood from the Scrumptious apple on to rootstock in the next few weeks then I'll get in touch with a local primary school later on when it's taken, to arrange to donate it.
